Aesthetic dentistry

In aesthetic dentistry, the focus is on preserving the natural teeth. For example, treatment may involve using orthodontics to straighten the teeth, followed by whitening. This approach helps maintain the natural beauty of the teeth, avoids damage, and ensures they remain healthy, strong, and functional for as long as possible. The placement of veneers is certainly possible at PC2 Tandartsen, but we always work in a minimally invasive way to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible.

What is the difference between aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry?

At first glance, there appears to be little difference between aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry. However, there is a significant distinction when examined more closely. Cosmetic dentistry primarily focuses on improving the appearance of the teeth, making them look whiter or straighter. Unfortunately, this approach may sometimes overlook the health and long-term preservation of the teeth.

In some cases, healthy tooth enamel may be removed solely to straighten teeth and place a veneer (a porcelain shell).
